Typography
Typography plays a central role in the Oxford visual identity, supporting clarity, authority and consistency across all communications. The approved typefaces are designed to work across print and digital formats. In addition to our primary fonts we have also curated a set of complimentary display fonts which work within our theme packs.
Primary fonts
Roboto and Noto Serif
The core University fonts, Roboto and Noto Serif, are pre-installed on managed staff machines. Being Google fonts, they are also available here: Roboto and Noto Serif.
Complementary display fonts
A small set of alternative complementary display fonts are available in our theme packs including Marcellus, Montserrat, Bebas Neue and Phudu. Display fonts can be used sparingly alongside Roboto and Noto Serif and are pre-installed on managed staff machines. Alternatively, they are freely available to download from Google.
Hierarchy and consistency
Oxford’s approved typefaces should be used in a clear and consistent way across all communications. Headings, subheadings and body text should be distinct and used in the same order throughout, so readers can easily navigate content. Applying the Oxford brand fonts consistently helps ensure communications are clear, professional and recognisably Oxford.
FAQs
Where can I find the font?
If your computer is supported by the University the fonts should be pre-installed, alternatively they can all be downloaded from Google fonts, or contact IT.
