Governance and committees

Research governance ensures research is undertaken in compliance with regulatory and funder requirements, protecting the researcher and the University, while also supporting research excellence and enhancing research culture.  Research and Innovation Committee is the University’s highest governance body in research, setting the institutional research strategy and monitoring its implementation.

Research assessment

The University is committed to fair and responsible research assessment. It participates in the Research Excellence Framework (REF), the UK’s system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions.
