Graduate admissions statistics

37,713 graduate applications were received for entry in the academic year 2023-24.

Our graduate students represent many countries and cultures, and are from a wide variety of academic and professional backgrounds.

Graduate headline figures

11,726 applications (31.1%) were for graduate research degrees and 25,987 applications (68.9%) were for graduate taught degrees.
28,006 applications (74.3%) were received from candidates with a country of domicile outside of the UK. Of these 3,572 (9.5%) were domiciled in EU countries and 24,434 (64.8%) were domiciled in non-EU countries. 9,707 (25.7%) were domiciled in the United Kingdom.
32,073 individuals applied to one or more graduate programme.
The total number of acceptances was 6,702. Of those accepting their offer of a place at Oxford in 2023-24, 3,192 (47.6%) were male and 3,508 (52.4%) acceptances were female.
