Support and governance
This section provides guidance on brand support, approvals and governance. It explains how to get help with applying the Oxford brand, where formal permission is required, and how brand assets are managed and protected across the University.
Brand and Design team
The Brand and Design team provides advice and support on applying the University’s visual identity. Contact the team if you have questions about the brand, need guidance on complex applications, or require access to logos and other brand assets.
Protecting the logo, approvals and permissions
The University logo is a legally protected asset and must be used correctly and consistently. Some uses of the University name, logo or visual identity require formal approval. This includes external use, partnerships and applications that fall outside standard guidance. Please see our Protecting the logo section for more information.
Image library guidance
The University Image Library is the primary source of images for Oxford communications and should be used wherever possible. It provides a wide range of approved images that reflect the University’s diversity and authenticity. If you cannot find suitable imagery, you can contact the team to discuss commissioning new photos or contribute your own images to the library. Further guidance on image use, permissions and consent forms is available.
