Concordats

Concordats are agreements between universities and major funders to improve elements of the research system. The University has signed up to three different concordats, and through these concordats has committed to change.

Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers

The University’s Charter for the Career Development of Researchers sets out a clear framework of support, outlining the University’s Concordat commitments, as well as the shared responsibilities of researchers and their PIs or line managers. Research demands focus, dedication, and sustained intellectual effort, which can make it difficult for researchers to prioritise career development alongside their day-to-day project work; the Charter seeks to address this.
