University Student Handbook 2025/26

The University Student Handbook provides general information and guidance you may need to help you to make the most of the opportunities on offer at the University of Oxford. It also gives you formal notification and explanation of the University’s statutes, regulations, rules, procedures and policies. 

Study guidance

Access to study skills, training guidance and resources, course materials, progression reports and forms, as well as study abroad, student status and suspension information.

Undergraduate

Access to your tutorial reports, course handbook and lecture lists, as well as information on what any change of your student status will mean to you.

Graduate

Information relating to your academic studies, including what any change to your student status will mean to you and the processes for progression.

Examinations and assessments

Information on the examinations and assessments process at the University: from entering for examinations through to accessing your results.

Student conduct

Students are subject to the University’s conduct regulations under Statue XI, including the University Code of Discipline.

Higher doctorates are earned awards of the University whose fundamental purpose is to recognise excellence in academic scholarship.

Academic dress

Full academic dress should be worn at all formal University ceremonies including matriculation and degree ceremonies.
