eDocuments
For Oxford students and alumni, the eDocuments service provides electronic versions of your academic documents. These can be downloaded in support of employment or further study applications and shared via with third parties (e.g. verification companies, prospective employers, and other Higher Education Institutions).
Importantly, the documents provided through this service are embedded with modern security features in an ongoing effort to protect students from any fraudulent activity.
Fee
For students and alumni there is a registration fee of £17. This fee provides unlimited access to all available* documents, and will include any further documents that are issued to you in the future. The service can also be used to print copies of documents at home.
*Available documents depend on when you commenced your studies and/or your course progression. Please visit the “For Students/Alumni” tab for further guidance.
For third parties there is a connection fee of £20. This fee is payable per single connection and provides time-limited access to documents selected by the student/alumni. The fee is payable for each individual student or the same student on a future occasion.

The eDocuments (DC) service can be used to:
- View digital documents
- Print copies of documents directly from the service
- Share documents with third parties via the connections feature. Making a connection invites the third party to register for eDocuments, they can then log in and view any documents chosen to be shared with them. As they are viewing student documents on our website they can be assured of their authenticity.
- Each document has a QR code that can be used to independently verify the authenticity of the document
- Download PDF versions of documents. For security purposes eDocument PDFs cannot be edited, printed, or uploaded to any portal that will re-save it as part of the process (e.g. application software, as the encryption that keeps the file safe will block it from being re-saved).
How to Register as a Student or Alumni
If you are a student or alumni and new to the eDocuments service, you will need to register an account before you can access or share your documents.
On your first visit you will need to register to confirm your identity and set a password to protect the account. This will be a new account specific to the service; the site does not use any account details you may have used elsewhere, including your SSO or the online store.
You can register here: eDocuments Service
Please do not register with your university or work email address. As these expire, a personal email address should be used. Also, please don’t create a third-party account to access your own student data.
The responses provided during the registration process will be checked against data the University holds about you. This will be your Student Number, Date of Birth, First Name, and Last Name as they were when you studied.
If you have any issues, please visit the Help and FAQs tab.
Please note: clicking on the month & year at the top of the calendar changes the view to year and then decade; you should not need to click too many times to locate your year of birth.
Provided the information you registered with matches the University records exactly, you will be automatically registered. If the information does not match, or your data has not yet been transferred to the service, you will see a ‘User account approval needed’ message and a member of the University’s Degree Conferrals team will have to review your responses before approving your account. This generally takes 1-2 working days.
How to find your student number
On your Bod card, your student number is to the bottom right of your photo, beneath your listed details. It is not the same as your SSO, library card number, or alumni number.
If you no longer have a Bod card, please contact [email protected] for assistance.
Sharing your documents using the connections feature
You can securely share your documents with third parties, such as employers or other higher education institutions, using the Connections feature. Once you have registered for the eDocuments (DC) service, you will be able to access a guidance video via a link on the DC "Connections" tab. However, you must have paid for Documents Access in order to share them with a third party. We can provide a breakdown of that video guidance here:
1) Register/Log in to your eDocuments account
2) Select the "Connections" tab
3) Select "Add Connection" and enter details of third party (a blank date will default to a one month limit)
4) Select "Send"
5) Provided you have paid for Documents Access, on the following screen you will then be able to select the edocuments you would like to share
Connection requests will be listed as 'Pending' until the third party accepts it (or until you approve it, in the instance where the third party makes the request), at which point it will become 'Active'. Individual Connections can be managed on this tab, too (including extending the timeframe, and cancelling early).
If you require any further help, you can view the eDocuments Student User Guide at this link: Student User Guide
