About the college

Founded in 2008, following the historic merger of Green College and Templeton College, its intellectual agenda and distinctive academic profile emphasise issues relating to human welfare and social, economic and environmental well-being in the 21st century.

The college brings together over 650 students from over 70 countries with more than 300 fellows. We are international, family-friendly, and future-focused within a traditional Oxford setting. Collaborations and interactions across the community of students, fellows and staff are actively encouraged and our egalitarian ethos is epitomised by a single common room. The inclusion of all, regardless of gender, sexual identity, race, ethnicity or class, is one of Green Templeton's foundational principles.

Green Templeton maintains a smoke-free policy across its main site and all annexes. Notably, the founder of Green College, Sir Richard Doll published the paper establishing the link between smoking and cancer.
