The College Library, the Middle East Centre Library, and the Russian and Eurasian Studies Centre Library are all located on St Antony's College campus. Collectively, they contain over 100,000 volumes which reflect major disciplinary interests of college members. An extensive collection of archival material relating to the Middle East is onsite at the Middle East Centre Archive. The Bodleian Latin American Centre Library and the Bodleian Japanese Library also sit within college grounds.

The College Library alone holds over 50,000 volumes, subscribes to a selection of journals, and keeps a small collection of archival materials relating to twentieth-century Europe (of particular importance being those of Sir John Wheeler-Bennett). Collections on international relations, development studies, modern history, politics, economics, and area studies are especially strong.

The college library and a computer room are available for college members 24 hours a day. All college rooms are connected to the university network and Wi-Fi access is available throughout the college.

St Antony’s has an excellent reputation for its cultural diversity and lively environment. This is reflected in the wide range of active clubs and societies, including longstanding favourites like those listed below.

Each year, new and exciting groups are formed; reflecting the creativity of the student community. All students are welcome to start a club or society, no matter how big or small.

Sports clubs include rowing, football and tennis. The college also offers a gym facility (recently refurbished), music room and a student-run late bar.

There is a medical suite with regular term-time attendance by a dedicated College Nurse and College Doctor. Careers and welfare events are organised throughout the year.

Five bedrooms are specifically designed for students with a range of disabilities and are located in two accommodation blocks on the college campus. Disabled students are given priority for a room in college for each year of study.

The college welcomes disabled students and will do all it reasonably can to assist, not only with accommodation but with access to, and within, the college.

Our Welfare team will support you by listening, providing information, advice and guidance, and signposting you to professional services. The team works with a welfare network within the College and university, including the Dean, College Nurse, Disability Advisory Service and the GCR Welfare Officers.

Throughout term, there is a range of welfare events, including termly welfare lunches, cultural events, and mental health awareness week.

The college aims to create an inclusive, friendly and open community to give you a balanced environment where you can work effectively and enjoy the opportunities Oxford has to offer.

The St Antony's Graduate Common Room (GCR) exists to serve and support the student members of the College and is the equivalent of the MCR in many other colleges. It is represented on the College’s Governing Body and Management Executive Team.

Most of the college's accommodation is located near or on the main site, with a few properties being a short stroll away on neighbouring streets. There are several en-suite rooms in the Founder’s and Gateway/Ghassan Shaker buildings (main site). The remaining accommodation comprises of single rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. The college also has couples/family accommodation conveniently located across the road from the main college site.

Allocation of college accommodation

The college aims to accommodate as many new students as possible. However, as demand for college accommodation is high, an accommodation ballot is held each July. Applicants can express a number of preferences for room types when they apply for college accommodation. If the first choice of room is not available, applicants may be offered an alternative grade of room.

As the college receives more applications for rooms than it has rooms available, rooms are allocated in the following order of priority:

1. disabled students with a disability that impacts on their living needs (medical evidence is required);
2. students awarded a St Antony's College scholarship; and then
3. students who are not ordinarily resident in the UK and have not studied at a UK university in the previous academic year.

If your course lasts for more than one year, you can apply to live in college accommodation after your first year. There is no restriction on the number of years that students may live in St Antony's College accommodation. Current students are able to apply for accommodation for their next year of study through a ballot for on-course students held at the end of Hilary (spring) term each year.

Lunch and dinner are available in the college's dining hall from Monday to Friday and brunch is served on Saturdays for most of the year. 

Meals are organised on a self-service system so no booking is required. The chefs are happy to cater for a wide range of dietary requirements; vegetarian and fish options are available daily.

Payment in the dining hall is made by adding credit to an online UPay account, which is charged by swiping your University card.

Communal kitchen facilities are provided in all housing. All kitchens are equipped with basic white goods and cupboard space. The college provides basic pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. All kitchens are cleaned once a week by the college's cleaners.
