About us

Accommodation is provided for three years of an undergraduate’s course, and usually for a fourth year for those who request it. All first-year students live on the main college site on Turl Street (Exeter's home since 1315), right in the heart of central Oxford. Additional college accommodation, with self-catering facilities, is available in vibrant East Oxford alongside Exeter’s renowned Cohen Quad site, the college’s state-of-the-art multi-award-winning building in Jericho.

During term time, three meals a day are served in Exeter’s Jacobean dining hall, while Cohen Quad’s 'Dakota Café' serves as a much-loved venue for socialising, studying, and refuelling.

Exeter’s stunning Victorian Gothic library was restored and modernised in 2023, with the installation of a lift and wheelchair-accessible toilet, additional reading areas for students, environmentally-friendly lighting and ventilation systems, charging points at every desk, and even a few secret doors scattered throughout its halls for undergraduates to explore!

The transformed library is not only breathtakingly beautiful but also a comfortable, functional, and inspirational study space.

The college walls also house a beautiful garden, which offers outstanding views of the Radcliffe Camera and the Bodleian Libraries. Exeter College combines Oxford’s celebrated medieval architecture and advanced 21st-century research facilities to create an open and inclusive learning environment cherished by current students and alumni alike.

Do you choose a college?

Not exactly. You can put a college's campus code on your UCAS form to specify a preference but you might still be shortlisted and offered a place by another college.
