About us

We’re proud to welcome students from a huge variety of backgrounds to Worcester - wherever you come from and whatever your circumstances, there's a place here for you here. With around 400 undergraduates from the UK and around the world, it's easy to make friends and meet like-minded people here at Worcester.

We offer accommodation to every undergraduate for three years and all our rooms are on-site or close by. Our buildings span more than 600 years so there’s lots of variety to choose from, but over two thirds of our bedrooms are ensuite, and most have access to shared kitchens.

If you don’t want to cook, our dining hall offers delicious and affordable meals on a pay-as-you-go basis, making it a popular option. Our café is also a great spot to grab a coffee or quick lunchtime sandwich. Twice a week you can enjoy formal hall and the lively bar is open every night during term.

We’re lucky to enjoy lots of other on-site facilities at Worcester. Our library offers 24-hour access and there’s a separate law library. We have a well-equipped gym next to our on-site sports fields and tennis courts, while our modern dance studio overlooks the beautiful lake. The auditorium hosts concerts and lectures, and lots of musical events happen in our chapel – which also has a fantastic choir. There is a dedicated multi-faith prayer room with its own washrooms.

At Worcester, we’re serious about your welfare and wellbeing and we have a professional team in place to support you if needed. In addition, our Learning Development Officer is available to offer support with your academic work and study skills.

We’re committed to ensuring that students should not be adversely affected by financial hardship. Worcester students can apply for a book allowance, vacation study grants, and a wide variety of emergency and long-term hardship support.  This is in addition to the University’s bursaries and scholarships.

Worcester is...

'…a community. I know I can ask anyone for help and advice, whether it’s an essay I’m confused about or where is best to store my bike!'
Eleanor

'…having such a tangible sense of support and encouragement – the staff and students have become my second family.'
Hannah

'… like this green oasis at the heart of the city. It has plenty of wide-open space to go for a wander – if you don’t mind making way for our ducks!'
Francis

'…a wonderful environment both as a place of learning and a home. Such a large student body means that there are so many opportunities to meet a variety of people and gather a great support network within college.'

Do you choose a college?

Not exactly. You can put a college's campus code on your UCAS form to specify a preference but you might still be shortlisted and offered a place by another college.
